In the 21st Century it's fair to say that you need a presence on the internet; if you want to show your family movies, set up your own home business or try your hand at making a few quid, then you need to get on the internet and tell the world.

But where do you start? Well, you're going to need a domain name and hosting. These shouldn't be scary things and you can find lots of help around the net to get you going, and godaddy hosting is a great place to start.

For me, one of the handiest things was the reviews of Wordpress designs, tools and themes - don't worry, this will all make sense once you get on there! - that are a massive boon to the amateur web designer; and if you haven't got anyone to ask those "stupid" questions that a new web user will always have and it always seems that everyone else knows, this is a great place to look.

And remember, there are no stupid questions, we all had to start somewhere!
